In the name of Christ

On dVerse, today, Karin Gustafson encourages us to present a poem written with repetition as an effect.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for being my Lord.
Both truth and justice you are, and afford.
You are the bread. Also, you are the wine.
Be it, himself man becomes so divine!

Be it, himself man of future takes heed!
Love and affection is what we all need.
Making a difference, it is, to dine.
Be it, himself man is bread and is wine!

This poem is published on my site "The poetry of Vaccinius" | here |.
I have put a link to this post on the blog hop of "dVerse" | here |. I have also put a link to the post on the blog hop of "The Weekend Brew" | here |.

  1. There is a real sweetness to this one Anders--kind of a Blakean feel -- and the exuberance of your faith is very storng. k.

  2. Anders, you have really shown the importance of the bread and the wine in your poem!

  3. Profound poem, Anders. "Be it, himself man becomes so divine" - my favorite line!

  4. ... and the Bread of Life... nice reflect

  5. an interesting thought in the last line, the embodiment of the last supper
being the bread and the wine...we had a teaching on similar lines
at church about a month ago...

  6. Very good.. I lake Karin's comment referring to Blake.. This is one of your best.

  7. Beautiful and graceful - it makes me happy, lifts my spirit. Indeed - "Be it, himself man becomes so divine!"

  8. Thank you for linking up with The Weekend Brew! I am enjoying your poetry!

  9. i like the metaphor of let the bread be your head..too many folks leave it in their
instead of mind and soul...and most of all HeART.
