THE WAY TO BE
In human history there are a lot
of people who found pleasure in the star.
Such people, that is stars, quite common are.
The firmament the star is lacking not.
Think of the wars such people have produced!
Respect is such a devastating god,
relying ignorantly on the rod.
Yourself, to be a star be not seduced!
Think of the moon, instead, and try to make
a difference the way you know The Lord.
Itself the light the moon will not afford.
The moon is sound. The moon is not a fake.
And when you do, think of the star as it
to do to prove you are not only fit.

This poem is an answer to a prompt on dVerse, where Bjørn Rudberg asks us to demonstrate the use of volta in a poem of some length. In fact, he proposes a sonnet. Writing in the form of sonnet is not what I normally do, since I find pentameters to be a bit awkward to write, but I tried.
This poem is not published on my poetry blog yet.
I have put a link to this post on the blog hop of "dVerse" | here |.
