It gives pain

It gives pain to be in vain.
It gives me headache.

Falling upon rock, as rain,
hurts – for Heaven’s sake!




They say the coin poem is not metered but it is syllabic, alternating seven and five syllables lines in two couplets. The first stanza states a thought. In the second stanza the thought is exhausted. The rhyme scheme is
