The meantime

The meantime will not struggle much,
quite certain it has got the touch

of water waiting to be grade,
of poem waiting to be made,

and takes no notice of the fact
a being is supposed to act

since it is not at all in need
since it is very good, indeed,

by being in between the two
which both appearances must do.

  1. I like that idea of a poem waiting to be made--each of us has one of those waiting to be discovered and brought into being.

  4. The meantime is the time we live, but still it often is forgotten for the verse we write.
